Samsung’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout plans leaked

NEW DELHI: While many smartphone makers have announced their rollout plans for Android Marshmallow, Samsung is not among them. However, a new report has shed some light on when a handful of the company's Galaxy smartphones will receive the latest version of Google's mobile OS.

According to a report by TimesNews.co.uk, Samsung Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are scheduled to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow in December, whereas Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will receive the same in January next year.

Last year's models Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge are getting the update in February.

On the other hand, approval for the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is awaited for a bunch of smartphones, namely:

* Samsung Galaxy S5

* Samsung Galaxy Alpha

* Samsung Galaxy A8

* Samsung Galaxy A7

* Samsung Galaxy A5

* Samsung Galaxy A3

* Samsung Galaxy E7

* Samsung Galaxy E5

Samsung devices not mentioned above will get the Android Marshmallow in the third phase, the report says.
